odenseeairea stands for a region with more
than a 100 year old history in aerospace and
a new regional aerospace industry network
for companies and R&D institutes. Reciprocal
networking between companies is the main
focus of the cluster initiative, complementary
to existing business relations, as well
as being a link between research and practical
experience. Fraunhofer IAO’s Technology
Management Centre in Friedrichs hafen, with
the dual study programme in aerospace technology
and the Zeppelin University, actively
contribute to transfer between business and
science.
The Bodenseekreis District not only has a
renowned aviation history, it is today one of
Germany’s forerunners in the aerospace industry.
Apart from the multinationals, there
is also a large number of small and medium
businesses, which makes the Bodenseekreis
District one of the few aerospace cluster
regions. AERO in Friedrichshafen is the leading
European trade fair for general aviation
with a global reach.
