Das Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr wurde im Oktober
2016 am Bochumer Marienplatz, angrenzend and die Marienkirche
des 19. Jahrhunderts, eröffnet. Der Bau integriert die
säkularisierte Kirche und gibt ihr eine neue Funktion: Sie
dient als Eingang und Foyer für die zwei Aufführungssäle
des Hauses. Im größeren der beiden Säle finden rund
960 Besucher*innen Platz. Nach 15 Jahren gemeinsamer
Arbeit von Bürger*innen, Unternehmen, Städten und Regierungen
sowie der EU gelang es, ein Haus für die Bochumer
Symphoniker zu schaffen, die bis dahin in einem
Industriegebäude außerhalb des Stadtzentrums probten.
Heute ist das Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr Ort für
Musik aller Art. Zahlreiche Projekte schärfen und erweitern
das Profil der Musikforums – so arbeiten die Bochumer
Symphoniker mit dem Klavier-Festival Ruhr, mit Chorwerk
Ruhr oder mit den Orchestern der Region zusammen.
The Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr was opened in October
2016 at Bochum’s Marienplatz, adjacent to the 19th
century Marienkirche. The building integrates the secularised
church and gives it a new function: It serves as entrance
and foyer for the two performance halls of the house.
The larger of the two halls can accommodate around 960
visitors. After 15 years of joint work by citizens, companies,
cities and governments as well as the EU, it was possible
to create a house for the Bochumer Symphoniker, which
until then had rehearsed in an industrial building outside
the city centre. Today the Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr
is a place for music of all kinds. Numerous projects sharpen
and expand the profile of the Musikforum – for example,
the Bochumer Symphoniker works together with the
Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Chorwerk Ruhr or the orchestras of
the region.
