Die Historische Stadthalle am Johannisberg ist eine der
bedeutendsten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt Wuppertal.
1900 wurde sie auf Initiative von Bürger*innen und Unternehmer*innen
der Stadt errichtet. 1995 nach fünfjähriger
Renovierung wiedereröffnet, verbindet das Haus heute
den mondänen Charme der letzten Jahrhundertwende mit
der Technik und Funktionalität des 21. Jahrhunderts und
gehört zu den renommiertesten Veranstaltungshäusern
Europas. Das Herzstück der acht Säle bildet der multifunktionale
Große Saal mit einer Kapazität von bis zu 1.500
Plätzen, der mit einer eindrucksvollen Akustik besticht.
The Historical Town Hall on Johannisberg is one of the
most important sights of the city of Wuppertal. It was built
in 1900 on the initiative of citizens and entrepreneurs of the
city. Reopened in 1995 after five years of renovation, the
building today combines the chic charm of the last turn
of the century with the technology and functionality of the
21st century and is one of the most renowned event venues
in Europe. The heart of the eight halls is the multifunctional
Great Hall with a capacity of up to 1,500 seats, which
impresses with its astonishing acoustics.
