Heather’s keyworker has continued to be very interested in this work,<br />

and in order to respond to this interest and their requests for information,<br />

some staff training for a small group <strong>of</strong> staff from Heather’s house has<br />

been arranged. This will be delivered with the Speech and Language<br />

Therapist and will use some video from the therapy and some strategies<br />

to help staff develop ways <strong>of</strong> being with Heather. This training is<br />

develops the partnerships between community team staff and care staff,<br />

but more importantly helps staff to work with Heather so that she can<br />

continue to develop.<br />

I consider that this development <strong>of</strong> the therapist’s role is particularly<br />

important when working with clients who can’t speak about their<br />

experiences in therapy. When working with clients in psychiatric<br />
