angle, modern methods <strong>of</strong> induction and in particular use <strong>of</strong> self-hypnosis can<br />

improve self-esteem and feelings <strong>of</strong> mastery.<br />

It is noteworthy that the authors are open-minded in their approach, and are<br />

willing to learn from all available techniques including old-style psychotherapies<br />

as well as new-style `alternative medicine.' <strong>Hypnosis</strong> gives opportunities for<br />

creativity, and it is obvious that this makes for considerable satisfaction in both<br />

therapist and client.<br />
