Nelson B. Seidman Memorial Schol'<br />
arship Fund—Established in 1968<br />
by friends, relatives and associates<br />
<strong>of</strong> Nelson B. Seidman, an honor<br />
graduate <strong>of</strong> the law school in 1958<br />
and a member <strong>of</strong> the faculty until<br />
his death in 1967.<br />
Semmes, Bowen & Semmes Schol'<br />
arship—Established by Semmes,<br />
Bowen & Semmes to provide<br />
scholarships based on need and<br />
merit. The recipient will be known<br />
as the Semmes, Bowen & Semmes<br />
Scholar.<br />
The Joseph Tydings Fellowship in<br />
<strong>Law</strong>—Established in honor <strong>of</strong><br />
Joseph Tydings, class <strong>of</strong> 1953.<br />
Milton Talkin Scholarship Fund—Established<br />
in 1983 by members <strong>of</strong><br />
the family and friends <strong>of</strong> Milton<br />
Talkin, to provide scholarship assistance<br />
to law students.<br />
Thomas Funds—Established in<br />
1962 under the will <strong>of</strong> Zaidee T.<br />
Thomas, the income from the<br />
"William Strobel Thomas Scholarship<br />
Fund" and the "John L.<br />
Thomas Scholarship Fund" provides<br />
both scholarships and loans<br />
for students.<br />
Henry Zoller, Jr. Scholarship Fund—<br />
Established in 1967 under the will<br />
<strong>of</strong> Bertha Pinkney Zoller, one-half<br />
<strong>of</strong> the income <strong>of</strong> the Henry Zoller,<br />
Jr. Scholarship Fund is used for<br />
scholarships to deserving law students.<br />
<strong>Law</strong> <strong>School</strong> Grants and Work<br />
Study<br />
Applicants demonstrating substantial<br />
financial need are eligible for<br />
grant assistance. In addition, the<br />
College Work-Study Program provides<br />
jobs for students who need financial<br />
aid and who must earn a<br />
part <strong>of</strong> their educational expenses.<br />
Jobs are arranged either on campus<br />
or with a public or private nonpr<strong>of</strong>it<br />
agency. Eligible students may<br />
be employed for as many as 20<br />
hours per week.<br />
<strong>Law</strong> <strong>School</strong> and Other Loans<br />
Lewis D. Asper Fund—Established<br />
in 1970 by the alumni, faculty, students<br />
and friends <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Lewis<br />
D. Asper, whose death in 1970 cut<br />
short his life work as a dynamic<br />
teacher and creative scholar at the<br />
<strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Law</strong>. This fund provides<br />
financial aid for disadvantaged students.<br />
The Jeffrey I. Goldman Memorial<br />
Loan Fund—Established in memory<br />
<strong>of</strong> Jeffrey Goldman by his law<br />
school classmates.<br />
Erman L. Harrison Loan Fund—Established<br />
in 1967 through a bequest<br />
<strong>of</strong> $5,000 under the will <strong>of</strong><br />
Theresa Harrison in memory <strong>of</strong><br />
her son.<br />
Robert E. Hess Memorial Loan<br />
Fund—Established in 1967 by the<br />
mother and friends <strong>of</strong> Robert E.<br />
Hess, an honor graduate <strong>of</strong> the<br />
class <strong>of</strong> 1955.<br />
<strong>Maryland</strong> State Bar Association Student<br />
Aid Fund—Established in<br />
1968 through the efforts <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Board <strong>of</strong> Governors <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Maryland</strong><br />
State Bar Association.<br />
Nathan Patz Student Loan Fund—<br />
Established in honor <strong>of</strong> Nathan<br />
Patz, <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Law</strong> class <strong>of</strong> 1926,<br />
by his family and friends. The fund<br />
provides low interest loans to law<br />
students.<br />
