the National Labor Relations<br />
Board, Mr. King served in the<br />
United States Army for two years.<br />
He then attended the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
Wisconsin, where he wrote a doctoral<br />
dissertation on the history <strong>of</strong><br />
urban land use law. Before joining<br />
the <strong>Maryland</strong> faculty, he was coeditor<br />
<strong>of</strong> the first two volumes <strong>of</strong><br />
the Legal Papers <strong>of</strong> Daniel Webster.<br />
He remains editor <strong>of</strong> volume three<br />
in that series.<br />

Susan Leviton,<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Maryland</strong>. From 1972 to 1975<br />
Ms. Leviton was employed at the<br />
Baltimore Legal Aid Bureau, where<br />
she served as managing attorney <strong>of</strong><br />
the Welfare Unit. In addition, she<br />
served as the legal aid lobbyist to<br />
the <strong>Maryland</strong> General Assembly.<br />
She is vice chairperson <strong>of</strong> the<br />
<strong>Maryland</strong> Human Relations Commission<br />
and chairperson <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Board <strong>of</strong> Directors <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Maryland</strong><br />
Disability <strong>Law</strong> Center. She is also<br />
a commissioner for the Baltimore<br />
City Department <strong>of</strong> Social Services.<br />
Ms. Leviton has written and<br />
participated extensively in representing<br />
children in special education<br />
proceedings and the Juvenile<br />
Court.<br />
