1979 he became a staff attorney in<br />
a neighborhood legal services <strong>of</strong>fice,<br />
the Legal Services Institute, a<br />
teaching clinic for the law schools<br />
<strong>of</strong> Northeastern and Harvard Universities.<br />
He was a member <strong>of</strong> the<br />
faculties at those schools and has<br />
taught law at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
New Mexico, Stanford <strong>University</strong><br />
and the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> New South<br />
Wales in Australia. In 1986 he received<br />
the annual award for law<br />
teachers <strong>of</strong> the Society <strong>of</strong> American<br />

primary teaching in: Work <strong>of</strong> a<br />

From 1982-84 she was a<br />
graduate fellow at the Harrison Institute<br />
for Public <strong>Law</strong>, Georgetown<br />
<strong>University</strong> <strong>Law</strong> Center, and from<br />
1978 to 1982 Ms. Bezdek was a<br />
staff attorney for the Center for<br />
Auto Safety. She was a member <strong>of</strong><br />
the Board <strong>of</strong> Directors, Washington<br />
Peace Center, and was a<br />
member <strong>of</strong> the Women's Legal Defense<br />
Fund's Battered Women<br />

David S. Bogen,<br />

York <strong>University</strong>. Following law<br />
school, Mr. Bogen was a law clerk<br />
for the Supreme Judicial Court <strong>of</strong><br />
Massachusetts and then a graduate<br />
fellow at New York <strong>University</strong>. Before<br />
joining the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Maryland</strong> faculty in 1969, he was<br />
in private practice for two years in<br />
New York City.<br />
He is the author <strong>of</strong> Bulwark <strong>of</strong><br />
Liberty: The Court and the First<br />
Amendment and a score <strong>of</strong> other<br />
publications in the fields <strong>of</strong> civil<br />
rights, constitutional law, labor law<br />
and legal history.<br />
