These are specially valuable, for they were written by
travellers who were able to get their information at
first hand. Good general descriptions of the Yazidis
are given by Menant, Les Yezidis, Paris 1892, and Parry,
Six Months in a Syrian Monastery, p. 357 ff. In the
last-named book is printed the translation by E. G. Browne
of a history of the Yazidis written in Arabic.
