Regionally Controlled Weed<br />

Hoary Cress<br />

Description: An erect herb 15-75 cm tall.<br />

flowers: White, 4-6 mm diameter and contains 4 petals.<br />

Clustered at the top of the plant. Appearing between<br />

September and November.<br />

leaves: Covered with fine hairs, lower leaves to 10 cm<br />

long oval or wedge shaped and short staked. Upper leaves<br />

smaller and stem clasping.<br />

stems: Erect, branched near top, covered with fine downy<br />

hairs. Vertically ridged.<br />

Note: Seriously effects crop yields. Difficult to control and<br />

spread by seed and root fragments.<br />

similar Native species: Unlikely to be confused with native<br />

species.<br />
