Regionally Controlled Weed<br />
Paterson’s Curse<br />
Description: Erect, up to 1.2 m tall and covered with coarse<br />
hair.<br />
flowers: Purple (sometimes white or pink), trumpet shaped<br />
and 2-3 cm long. Occurring between August and December<br />
in curved clusters at the end of branches.<br />
leaves: Rosette and base leaves broad, paddle-shaped and<br />
up to 25 cm long with prominent veins. Stem leaves smaller<br />
and clasping stem.<br />
stems: Usually several rising from the base. Covered with<br />
hairy bristles.<br />
Note: Can dominate grazing land and annual pastures. Toxic<br />
to some stock in large quantities.<br />
similar Native species: Unlikely to be confused with native<br />
species.<br />
