Subpart S Trolley Wires <strong>and</strong> Trolley Feeder Wires<br />

77.1800 Cutout Switches<br />

It is the intent of this Section to require that cutout switches<br />

be installed in both trolley wires <strong>and</strong> parallel trolley feeder<br />

wires at the same point. Where it is necessary to use a cutout<br />

switch in each circuit, they shall be installed reasonably close<br />

to facilitate the opening of both circuits. The practice of<br />

using a jumper to bridge a removed section of trolley wire as a<br />

means of disconnecting power shall not be accepted.<br />

77.1802 Insulation of Trolley Wires, Trolley Feeder Wires;<br />

<strong>and</strong> Bare Signal Wires; Guarding of Trolley Wires<br />

<strong>and</strong> Trolley Feeder Wires<br />

It is the intent of this Section that guarding shall be done<br />

with wood, plastic or other substantial nonconductive material,<br />

<strong>and</strong> be firmly secured. The mine inspector shall require<br />

additional guarding of trolley wires at all locations where a<br />

potential shock hazard exists.<br />
