laboratory staff must be trained so that uniform methods of analysis are followed in<br />

various laboratories making the results comparable. A uniform criteria must be fixed<br />

regarding qualification and experience of manpower engaged in the programme.<br />

(xiv) Infrastructure<br />

Proper shed such as pota cabin with telephone facility must be provided at site so that<br />

instrument can be protected during rains and other extreme weather conditions. Ice box<br />

and tool must be provided at site.<br />

(xv) Review Meetings<br />

Periodic meetings must be held among all the monitoring agencies to discuss and resolve<br />

problems faced in monitoring and also to review monitoring locations, frequency, addition<br />

or deletion of any parameter etc.<br />

(xvi) Involvement of Other <strong>Monitoring</strong> Agency<br />

Local universities/ research institutions etc. may also be involved in ambient air <strong>quality</strong><br />

monitoring to generate reliable data by sharing their experience in the field.<br />

(xvii) Dedicated Manpower<br />

Dedicated manpower who are engaged only in ambient air <strong>quality</strong> monitoring must be<br />

involved in the programme so that monitoring is carried out for 104 days in a year as per<br />

the NAAQS.<br />

(xviii) Power Supply<br />

Provision for uninterrupted power supply must be made so that monitoring can be carried<br />

out 24 hours in day.<br />
