(3) The Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen, while endorsing Recycling, have found it<br />

to be too expensive under present financial constraints, and <strong>the</strong><br />

plan right now is not to make Recycling mandatory but to<br />

incorporate Recycling into a Solid Waste Program prior to closing<br />

<strong>the</strong> landfill.<br />

(4) The Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen intend to solicit engineering bids for <strong>the</strong><br />

closure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> landfill.<br />

(5) The Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen will hold public hearings and get input<br />

dealing with proposed assessments and charges for commercial and<br />

industrial waste generated in <strong>Hampton</strong>.<br />

ARTICLE 2 6<br />

Are you in favor <strong>of</strong> providing access to a transfer station by<br />

constructing a new road along <strong>the</strong> toe (bottom) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> existing landfill<br />

from Landing Road to <strong>the</strong> proposed location <strong>of</strong> said transfer station at<br />

<strong>the</strong> South East portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> existing landfill property (a NO vote on<br />

this article will cause access to be from Tide Mill Road, also known as<br />

"The Road to <strong>the</strong> Sewer Plant" .<br />

ARTICLE 27<br />

To see if <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> will vote to amend <strong>the</strong> Sewage Use and<br />

Construction Ordinance, Article 6 <strong>of</strong> Chapter 2, Health and Welfare, <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> Ordinances, by adding subsections (1) and (2) to subsection<br />

(a) <strong>of</strong> Sec. 2:206, Construction <strong>of</strong> Building Sewers and Connections<br />

thusly:<br />

(1) Calendar year fees for connection to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong>'s sewerage<br />

system for within-town governmental tax-exempt property <strong>of</strong><br />

any owner whose jurisdictional or district lines extend beyond<br />

<strong>the</strong> boundaries <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> shall be:<br />

-per bathtub, shower or floor drain, hot tub, Jacuzzi-$50. 00<br />

-per flush toilet, urinal, etc. -$100.00<br />

-per sink or lavatory -$50.00<br />

-per water fountain -$25.00<br />

-per clo<strong>the</strong>s washer, dishwasher -$75.00<br />

-per recreational vehicle lot <strong>of</strong> space (in lieu <strong>of</strong><br />

any individual fee above) -$150.00<br />

-o<strong>the</strong>r - fee to be set by Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen in proportion to<br />

<strong>the</strong> above fees<br />

(2) The Director <strong>of</strong> Public Works or his designee shall determine<br />

<strong>the</strong> total charges for each owner, to be billed by January 31<br />

and payable by April 1; in <strong>the</strong> event <strong>of</strong> estimated or contested<br />

billing, <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen shall adjudicate any petition<br />

or claim resulting <strong>the</strong>refrom.<br />

ARTICLE 28<br />

To see <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> will vote to amend <strong>the</strong> dump/sanitary landfill<br />

ordinance, Chapter 2, Health & Welfare, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> Ordinances, Article<br />

1, Dumps, thusly:<br />

Subsection (a) presently reads "Any legal resident <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Hampton</strong> or any person owning real property in said <strong>Town</strong> shall be<br />

permitted to use any public dump under <strong>the</strong> terms and conditions herein<br />

set forth." Amend by adding at <strong>the</strong> end after "set forth": "and<br />

subject, fur<strong>the</strong>r, to such conditions, including fees for governmental<br />

tax-exempt property owners whose jurisdictional or district lines<br />

extend beyond <strong>the</strong> boundaries <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong>, as <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Selectmen ordains."<br />
