ment <strong>of</strong> a Fire Department sedan; to repair and rebuild <strong>the</strong> Fire Department<br />

Aerial Ladder No. 2, to re-chassis <strong>the</strong> Fire Alarm truck and to install an<br />

exhaust system in Fire Station No. 2, such sum to be raised by <strong>the</strong> issuance<br />

<strong>of</strong> five year (5 year) Serial Bonds or Notes not to exceed $ 1 96,000.00 under<br />

and in compliance with provisions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Municipal Finance Act (N.H.R.S.A.<br />

33.1 et seq., as amended) and to authorize <strong>the</strong> Selectmen to issue and<br />

negotiate such bonds or notes and to determine <strong>the</strong> rate <strong>of</strong> interest <strong>the</strong>reon,<br />

and to take such o<strong>the</strong>r actions as may be necessary to effect <strong>the</strong> issuance,<br />

negotiation, sale and delivery <strong>of</strong> such bonds or notes as shall be in <strong>the</strong> best<br />

interest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong>.<br />

An amendment was <strong>of</strong>fered by Arthur Moody, Seconded by Jason Page<br />

to change (5 year) to (3-5 year)<br />

The motion passed and Article 29 passed as amended on a yes/no ballot:<br />

Yes: 204 No: 45<br />

ARTICLE 30:<br />

To see if <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> will vote to accept <strong>the</strong> Budget as submitted by <strong>the</strong><br />

Municipal Budget Committee and to raise and appropriate <strong>the</strong> sum <strong>of</strong><br />

$13,200,000.<br />

MOVED: Sandra Nickerson<br />

SECOND: Mary-Louise Woolsey<br />

Bruce Aquizap moved, seconded by Michele Kingsley to increase from<br />

$8,000.00 to $10,000.00 <strong>the</strong> Area Homemaker's budget allowance.<br />

The amendment failed.<br />

George Hardardt moved <strong>the</strong> question, seconded by Frances McNeil.<br />

At this time George Hardardt presented Daniel E. Coughlin, Jr. a plaque<br />

in appreciation for his years <strong>of</strong> service to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hampton</strong>. Coughlin<br />

expressed his thanks to everyone who supported him, and his family's<br />

thanks to those who didn't.<br />

Selectman Woolsey presented George Hardardt with a plaque in honor<br />

<strong>of</strong> his service to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Town</strong>.<br />

Robert Vic Lessard presented new Selectman Art Moody with a plaque<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Lessard family.<br />

Arthur responded by thanking everyone and mentioned it was nice to<br />

be remembered before you were dead.<br />

Martha Williams <strong>of</strong>fered an amendment to <strong>the</strong> budget <strong>of</strong> $9,594.00 to<br />

give <strong>the</strong> library employees a 5% raise, seconded by Glyn Eastman.<br />

The motion carried.<br />

Jane E.<br />

MacLean moved to add $4,902 for RCAP seconded by Loretta<br />

Hayes. The motion failed.<br />

George Hardardt moved, seconded by Paul Powell to accept <strong>the</strong><br />

revenue sheet submitted by <strong>the</strong> Budget Committee. The motion passed.<br />
