Was admitted in 1983 and has been a barrister sole since 1992. Has an undergraduate degree from Auckland<br />

University and a Masters from Kings College London. Practice includes property division,parenting disputes , family<br />

property contracts (post-nuptial and pre-nuptial) financial support as well as surrogacy and adoption matters, both<br />

domestic and international. Particular field <strong>of</strong> specialisation is in Hague Convention matters. Margaret has conducted<br />

a number <strong>of</strong> appeals (mainly for the Central Authority), provided advice to the Central Authority and the Courts on the<br />

operation <strong>of</strong> the Convention and delivered a number <strong>of</strong> seminars and workshops both in New Zealand and overseas.<br />

Also a trained mediator and collaborative lawyer and regularly mediates property, child and Hague Convention<br />

disputes both privately and for the Family Court. Was recently appointed as member <strong>of</strong> the first High Court Civil<br />

Mediation Pilot.<br />
