Applications for admission shall be forwarded to prospective applicants on
request.
All submitted applications become the property of the Academy and shall not be
returned to the applicant.
Upon receipt of the completed application and any required non-refundable
application fee, the Board of Admissions shall make any further inquiry that it
deems appropriate.
An application from an applicant who practices law within a country or
international region which has a Chapter must be referred to the Chapter’s
Board of Admissions for its recommendation; the recommendation of the
Chapter’s Board of Admissions will be submitted as soon as reasonably
practicable to the full Board of Admissions.

Within a reasonable time, the Board of Admissions shall take final action upon
each application; and notify each applicant accordingly.
Upon acceptance of an invitation to join any class of Fellowship, the Board of
Admissions shall notify the President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Academy
and the President of the relevant Chapter, as appropriate, and such notification
shall constitute entry upon the Fellowship rolls.
Each Fellow, regardless of classification, shall be entitled to the honours and
privileges accorded to all Fellows, except Associate Fellows may not hold elective or
appointive office.
1.6 EVIDENCE OF FELLOWSHIP

The Board may provide for the form, style and the issue of a certificate or plaque
evidencing each class of Fellow.
After an applicant is accepted for any class of Fellowship and has paid any
required initiation fee and dues, evidence of such Fellowship, in the form
approved from time to time by the Board, shall be issued and sent to the new
Fellow by the Executive Director.
Any certificate or plaque shall:
(1) be signed by the President and Secretary;
(2) be sealed with the seal of the Academy;
(3) contain the name of the Fellow to whom it is to be issued and the date
on which the Fellow’s name was entered on the Academy records.
If a certificate or plaque becomes lost, damaged or destroyed, a duplicate may
be issued upon such terms and conditions as the Board may determine.
All certificates or plaques evidencing Fellowship are the property of the
Academy and shall be returned on demand.
