Anita is a family law barrister based in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is a Governor and the Parliamentarian of IAML.
Anita is a former Chair of the New Zealand Family Law Section, a director of ChildFund New Zealand and a former
director of the NZLS CLE Board. Anita is a regular guest presenter in family law at the University of Otago. She has
presented papers in family law in New Zealand and overseas.

Admitted as a lawyer in New Zealand in 1975 and admitted to the Roll of English Solicitors in 1989. Led a team of
family law specialists for many years in a prominent law firm before going to the Bar in June 2006. Formerly Executive
Member of the New Zealand Law Society Family Law Section, a Member of the Court of Arbitration of Sport and
Honorary Adviser to the New Zealand Association of Counsellors. On the panel of lawyers appointed by the New
Zealand Central Authority in respect of Hague Convention matters. Featured in a number of prominent reported New
Zealand cases in all aspects of family law including relationship property, private care arrangements for children and
the care and protection of children. Much sought after as a presenter at conferences and in 2003 chaired the New
Zealand Society Family Law Conference in Auckland. Prominent in New Zealand Law Society education programmes
for family lawyers, training for lawyers appointed to represent children, and evidence in the Family Court.
