1.7 DUES AND ASSESSMENTS
Dues and assessments may be required from all Fellows in such amounts as fixed by
the Board. Fellows who are members of a Chapter may be required to pay additional
dues, set by the Board of Managers of the Chapter and approved by the Board (see
also 2.3 a below).
1.8 GOOD STANDING
Unless terminated or disciplined under 1.9 below all Fellows are continued in good
standing by the payment of dues and assessments which have been set by or
approved by the Board under 1.7.
1.9 TERMINATION AND DISCIPLINE

Upon removal of a Fellow’s name from the rolls of the Academy all Fellowship
privileges shall end and that person’s Fellowship shall be terminated.
The name of any Fellow shall be removed from the rolls of the Academy upon
such Fellow’s termination of such Fellowship, resignation, death, disbarment or
during any period of suspension from practice or loss of privilege or license to
practice. All Fellows shall notify the Secretary when any of these events occur to
them or when it comes to their attention that they have occurred to another
Fellow.
The name of all Fellows whose dues or assessments have not been paid within
ninety days after mailing of the original bill shall be removed from the rolls of the
Academy.
Following a recommendation of the Board of Review for the discipline of a
Fellow, as provided for in 8.2, the Board shall meet in closed session and hold a
confidential review of the transcript of hearing, if any, and of any documentary
evidence presented to the Board of Review, and may then terminate, suspend,
or otherwise discipline a Fellow for:
(1) conduct deemed injurious to the good order, peace, reputation or best
interests of the legal profession or the Academy;
(2) any other good cause which the Board deems sufficient.
Any decision by the Board in relation to a recommendation of the Board of
Fellows for discipline of a Fellow must be by affirmative vote of at least twothirds
of the members of the Board present.
During any period of suspension imposed as a matter of discipline, the Fellow
may not
(1) vote;
(2) participate in any election;
(3) stand for election or appointment to any office, committee or activity;
(4) continue to act in an elected or appointive capacity;
(5) speak or purport to speak on behalf of the Academy or a Chapter of the
Academy;
(6) hold him or herself as a Fellow in good standing
