Miriam Grassby has been practising Family Law since 1975. Being involved in Legislative Reform and Family Law
Policy, she maintained an active practice. Member: Quebec Bar Association, Comité permanent en droit de la famille
(1988-2003), Chair of the Committee (1995-2000); Federal Department of Justice, Comité consultatif sur les pensions

Julie K. Hannaford is a trial lawyer who started her own law firm, J K Hannaford Barristers, in July 2006. Julie was
called to the Bar in 1985. She is currently an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Toronto Law School and was a
former part-time Member of Faculty in Trial Practice at Osgoode Hall Law School, as well as a team leader for the
Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop at Osgoode Hall Law School. She is the co-chair of the University of Toronto
Tribunal and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and The Advocates’ Society.

Called to the Bar in 1986. After practising for five years in Windsor, moved to Barrie in 1990. After practising as a
partner with Oatley, Purser, started own practice in 1995 where she continues to practise exclusively in family law.
Member: Advocates Society; former member, Canadian Bar Association Ontario Family Law Section Executive;
founding member, Simcoe County Family Law Lawyers' Association. Written extensively in the area of family law and
participated in CLE programmes including co-chairing the 2001 Annual Institute Programme. Continues to develop a
special interest in case management, mediation and arbitration.
