Alarms This feature allows you to set an alarm to ring at a specific time. 1. Press Tools Alarms. The following options display: • Wake-up Alarm: the alarm rings to wake you up at the specified time. • Alarm 1: primary alarm setting. • Alarm 2: secondary alarm setting. • Alarm 3: third alarm setting. • Alarm 4: fourth alarm setting. • Auto power: when turned on, alarms ring even when the phone is turned off. 2. Select an alarm and press the key. – or – Press Options Create alarm. 3. Set the following options: • Name: allows you to use a specific name for the alarm. The name you enter will display on the screen when the alarm activates. • Alarm Activation: use the Left or Right Navigation key to select On or Off. • Alarm time: use the Left or Right Navigation key to highlight the minutes or hours field and enter a number using the keypad. Highlight AM/PM and use the Right Navigation key to toggle the setting. Press Save to save the new values. Note: To change the time format, see “Time and Date” on page 119. 92
• Alarm type: sets the way in which the alarm sounds when activated (Melody, Increasing Melody, Vibration, Vibration then Melody, Vibration and Melody, or Vibration and Increasing Melody). • Alarm tone: sets the sound file that is played when the alarm is activated. • Alarm volume: adjusts the alarm’s volume (1 - 7). • Recurrence: use this option to set the repeating status for the alarm by placing a checkmark alongside those days you would like to use for the current alarm. Everyday places a checkmark alongside all days. • Snooze: use this option to set Snooze duration (Off, 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 Minutes) and Repeat (1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 times). 4. Press Save to store the alarm details. Setting Alarm Auto Power-up You can set the phone to sound alarms at the specified alarm time, even if the phone is switched off. 1. Press Alarms. 2. Highlight Auto power and press the key. 3. Select On and press Save. Note: If the menu option is set to Off, and the phone is switched off at the specified time, the alarm does not ring. Turning Off an Alarm To cancel the alarm when it rings, press any key (except Snooze). If Snooze is enabled in the alarm settings, you can press Snooze to delay the alarm by the length of time selected in the Snooze setting. 93
