3.3.2.3. The effect of protein molecular mass on the chromatographic behavior<br />
Other component in evaluating the experimental data obtained <strong>after</strong> 2-D gel electrophoresis is<br />
the potential relationship between protein molecular weight and elution behavior, as a<br />
function of elution position and adsorbent type. In a previous report, molecular mass of the<br />
protein has not shown any correlation with protein retention in ion exchange chromatography<br />
(19). However, the effect of molecular mass was reported in HIC using the retention time of<br />
the model proteins (33). A few model proteins were used for the analysis which may not give<br />
a complete picture of all the contributing parameters involved in protein retention. In this<br />
