TOWN OF PHIPPSBURG<br />

Article 24. It was voted to raise and appropriate the reduced amount <strong>of</strong> $67,450.00 for <strong>Town</strong><br />

Administration expenses.<br />

(Selectman Everett Perkins made a motion, which was seconded, to reduce the<br />

amount to be raised and appropriated from $70,700.00 to $67,450.00 because the MCOG<br />

membership fee is now part <strong>of</strong> the County tax. Clerical Workers hourly wages will be<br />

$11.52.)<br />

Article 25. It was voted to raise and appropriate the recommended amount <strong>of</strong> $7,000.00 for the<br />

Computer and Communications Capital Reserve Account, pursuant to 30-A MRSA § 5801, to<br />

upgrade the <strong>Town</strong> Hall telephone system and replace computers.<br />

Article 26. It was voted to raise and appropriate the reduced amount <strong>of</strong> $43,800.00 for each <strong>of</strong><br />

the following Assessing Accounts:<br />

(Selectman Gary Read made a motion, which was seconded, to reduce the amount to<br />

be raised and appropriated for “Mapping and Associated Costs” from $2,100.00 to $0.00<br />

resulting in the total amount being reduced from $45,900.00 to $43,800.00.)<br />

Article 27. It was voted to raise and appropriate the recommended amount <strong>of</strong> $15,000.00 for<br />

<strong>Town</strong> Legal expenses.<br />

(Selectman Everett Perkins made a motion, which was seconded, to pass the article for<br />

the recommended amount <strong>of</strong> $15,000.00. Ivon Boyer made an amendment, which was seconded<br />

and failed, to reduce the amount from $15,000.00 to $10,000.00.)<br />

Article 28. It was voted to raise and appropriate the reduced amount <strong>of</strong> $12,800.00 for the operation<br />

and maintenance <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> Hall.<br />

(Selectman Julia House made a motion, which was seconded, to reduce the amount to<br />

be raised and appropriated from $13,500.00 to 12,800.00. The Custodian’s hourly wage<br />

will be $13.69.)<br />

Article 29. It was voted to raise and appropriate the recommended amount <strong>of</strong> $5,000.00 for the<br />

<strong>Town</strong> Contingency fund for expenditures not budgeted for in any specific account.<br />

Article 30. It was voted to authorize the Selectmen and Treasurer to sell and dispose <strong>of</strong>, on behalf<br />

<strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong>, any <strong>Town</strong> land or buildings acquired by any means on such terms as they<br />

deem advisable in accordance with applicable State Statutes and this article. This includes the<br />

selling <strong>of</strong> land or buildings back to the prior owner upon payment <strong>of</strong> all unpaid taxes, taxes that<br />

would have been paid had not the land and/or building been town-owned, lien costs and interest<br />
