road projects.<br />

Article 47. It was voted to authorize the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen to grant utility easements for utilities<br />

crossing <strong>Town</strong> Roads. Installations would comply with the requirements set forth by the<br />

Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen and Road Commissioner.<br />

Article 48. It was voted to raise and appropriate the reduced amount <strong>of</strong> $176,000.00 for the<br />

following Road Maintenance accounts.<br />

(Road Commissioner Curtis Doughty made a motion, which was seconded, to reduce<br />

the recommended total amount to $176,000.00 as per the following: (1) reduce the amount<br />

to be raised and appropriated for Highway-Winter from $180,000.00 to $111,000.00, (2)<br />

reduce the amount to be raised and appropriated for Tar from $15,000.00 to $10,000.00,<br />

and (3) leave the amount to be raised and appropriated for Highway-General at the recommended<br />

amount <strong>of</strong> $55,000.00. Road employee hourly wages range from $12.63 to<br />

$17.25 depending on position.)<br />

Article 49. It was voted to raise and appropriate the recommended amount <strong>of</strong> $100,000.00 for<br />

the Road Capital Reserve Account, pursuant to 30-A MRSA § 5801, for the purpose <strong>of</strong> major<br />

road repairs and construction.<br />

HEALTH, WELFARE, AND SANITATION<br />

Article 50. It was voted to raise and appropriate the recommended amount <strong>of</strong> $5,000.00 for<br />

General Assistance.<br />

Article 51. It was voted to raise and appropriate the recommended amount <strong>of</strong> $197,000.00 for<br />

operation <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> Transfer Station.<br />

Article 52. It was voted to appropriate the reduced amount <strong>of</strong> $94,000.00 from Surplus available<br />

as <strong>of</strong> May 3, <strong>2012</strong> for the Transfer Station Capital Improvement Reserve Account, pursuant<br />

to 30-A MRSA § 5801, for the purpose <strong>of</strong> constructing a building debris pad and relocating the<br />

swap and universal waste trailers.<br />

(Selectman Gary Read made a motion, which was seconded, to reduce the amount to<br />

be raised and appropriated from $120,000.00 to $94,000.00 and reduce the scope <strong>of</strong> projects<br />

to only building a debris pad and relocating the swap and universal waste trailers.)<br />
