Section 8. Amendments<br />
A. This Ordinance may be amended by majority vote <strong>of</strong> the legislative body. Copies <strong>of</strong><br />
amendments, attested and signed by the Municipal Clerk, shall be submitted to the Commissioner<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Environmental Protection following adoption by the municipal legislative<br />
body and shall not be effective unless approved by the Commissioner. If the Commissioner<br />
fails to act on any amendment within forty-five (45) days <strong>of</strong> his/her receipt <strong>of</strong> the amendment,<br />
the amendment is automatically approved. Any application for a permit submitted to the<br />
municipality within the forty-five (45) day period shall be governed by the terms <strong>of</strong> the amendment,<br />
if such amendment is approved by the Commissioner.<br />
A. This Ordinance can be amended only by a majority vote at any <strong>Phippsburg</strong> <strong>Town</strong> Meeting.<br />

B. Amendments can be initiated only by a majority vote <strong>of</strong> the Planning Board, or by a majority<br />
vote <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen or by written petition signed by a number <strong>of</strong> voters equal to at<br />
least ten (10) percent <strong>of</strong> the number <strong>of</strong> votes cast in the <strong>Town</strong> at the last gubernatorial election.<br />
Section 15.B.1.e.iv.<br />
iv. All new or relocated buildings structures shall be set back from an abutting boundary line by<br />
a minimum <strong>of</strong> twenty (20) feet.<br />
Section 15.C.2.<br />
2. Friends and relatives may visit <strong>Phippsburg</strong> residents and locate recreational vehicles or tent<br />
sites on a lot with a permanent residential structure for up to seven consecutive days without a<br />
permit. After seven days, the Codes Enforcement Officer may issue up to two (2) seasonal permits,<br />
at any given time, for up to a total <strong>of</strong> one hundred and twenty (120) days per calendar<br />
year, to the property owner <strong>of</strong> the lot where the recreational vehicle or tent site is located. These<br />
provisions do not apply to any commercial or rental purposes.<br />
Section 15.G.2.f.<br />
f. The following qualify as home businesses under this Ordinance and do not require a new<br />
business permit, providing the above restrictions are complied with:<br />

iv. Home mechanic shops, automobile repair shops, and automobile body repair shops in which<br />
all vehicles are repaired inside a building and no more than two customer vehicles are stored<br />
