Outcome Assessment
As part of its continuing effort to improve itself and its
academic programs, Purdue University Calumet engages
in a periodic outcomes assessment for the entire university,
including all academic areas. In brief, the student outcomes
assessment program states what students should be
learning or achieving at Purdue University Calumet, and
gathers data to determine whether students appear to be
achieving these objectives. Faculty and staff use these
data to make both academic and non-academic program
improvements. The entire academic outcomes assessment
program itself is continuously reviewed by the Academic
Assessment Policy Advisory Committee which reports
directly to the Chancellor of Purdue University Calumet.
The worth of this effort to Purdue University Calumet and
its students is so great that the University has stated as a
requirement for graduation that it expects its students to
complete all appropriate assessment procedures related to
general education and/or their major field.
