<strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> giving effect to <strong>the</strong><br />

trust;<br />

(c) <strong>the</strong> orderly marketing or production or<br />

growth or extraction <strong>of</strong> any agricultural<br />

product or mineral or any article or thing<br />

prepared for market or manufactured for<br />

market, or for <strong>the</strong> reasonable restriction <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> any property in <strong>the</strong> interest <strong>of</strong><br />

safeguarding <strong>the</strong> rights or interests <strong>of</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs;<br />

or<br />

(d) <strong>the</strong> compulsory taking in <strong>the</strong> public interest<br />

<strong>of</strong> any property, where <strong>the</strong> property is held<br />

by a body corporate which has been<br />

established directly by law for public<br />

purposes and in which no moneys have been<br />

invested o<strong>the</strong>r than moneys provided by<br />

Parliament or by a former Legislature <strong>of</strong><br />

Grenada.<br />

(4) In this section,<br />

“property” includes property <strong>of</strong> every description,<br />

and rights and interests in property <strong>of</strong> every<br />

description; and<br />

“take” includes take possession.<br />

The right to freedom<br />

<strong>of</strong> conscience and<br />

religion<br />

14.(1) Every person has <strong>the</strong> right to <strong>the</strong> freedom <strong>of</strong><br />

conscience, <strong>of</strong> thought and <strong>of</strong> religion, and to manifest and<br />

propagate his or her religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice<br />

and observance. Therefore, Parliament shall not make provision for<br />

<strong>the</strong> establishment <strong>of</strong> any religion, or for <strong>the</strong> imposition <strong>of</strong> any<br />

religious observance, or to prohibit anyone in <strong>the</strong> free and lawful<br />

exercise <strong>of</strong> his or her religious beliefs, through worship and praise<br />

or o<strong>the</strong>rwise, in public or in private, alone or in community with<br />

o<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

(2) Every person attending a place <strong>of</strong> education has <strong>the</strong><br />

right, except with his or her own consent (or, if he or she is under<br />

<strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> eighteen years, <strong>the</strong> consent <strong>of</strong> his or her guardian), not to<br />

be required to receive religious instruction or to take part in or<br />

attend any religious ceremony or observance if that instruction,<br />

ceremony or observance relates to a religion which is not his or her<br />

own.<br />

(3) Every person has <strong>the</strong> right not to be compelled to<br />

take any oath which is contrary to his or her religion or belief, or to<br />

take any oath in a manner which is contrary to his or her religion or<br />

belief.<br />

(4) Every religious community is entitled at its own<br />

expense to establish and maintain places <strong>of</strong> education, and to<br />

manage any place <strong>of</strong> education which that community wholly<br />

maintains.<br />

(5) Every religious community is entitled to provide<br />

religious instruction for persons <strong>of</strong> that community in <strong>the</strong> course <strong>of</strong><br />
