IOWA—The Glidden Memorial Theatre reopened again the first of the month with "Kettles in the Ozarks." Decision to open the theatre was made at the regular January meeting of the Merle Hay American Legion. The theatre has been closed since last summer. Numerous requests have been made for the theatre to resume operation. Once again Pat Bruning assumed the major responsibility for booking movies, and managing the theatre. Other Legion members volunteered to stand ready to help out with the managerial duties. In reopening the theatre, the Legion emphasized that the movies can continue only as long as they are supported by the community. The Legion post cannot afford to operate the theatre at a lo.ss. If people in the community desire a theatre, it must be supported by attendance of adults as well as children and students. Two shows a week will be booked, one for Thursday and Saturday and another for Sunday and Monday. Once again Glidden business men will do their part in support of the theatre by purchasing about $100 worth of Booster tickets per month. Any other people in Glidden or the surrounding community who want to purchase tickets on a monthly basis to help assure continued operation of the theatre should contact Manager Pat Bruning or Bob Van Horn at the bank.
