ITO Chief Calls Meeting
Of Truck and Branch Men
CLEVELAND—Horace Adams, president of
the Independent Theatre Owners of Ohio,
has asked Cleveland and Cincinnati branch
managers, bookers, exhibitors and film carriers
to attend a meeting in Columbus at the
Deshler-Hilton Hotel on March 6 "to work out
problems confronting us today."
Adams urged attendance at the meeting
"since I think it is incumbent upon all of us
to listen to any suggestions for the good of
our respective businesses."
The letter did not state what specific
problems are to be discussed, but it is sui--
mised within the industry, that they refer
to the relationship of print shortages to some
reduction in film delivery service in areas
where many theatres are closed.
Louis Gross, president of the Film Haulers
Ass'n of Ohio, has suggested to Adams that.
in the interet of economy of time and money
and for a quicker solution of problems, northern
Ohio industry members meet in Cleveland
and southern Ohio industry members meet in
Cincinnati. Gross points out that the problems
in the two areas are not identical and
a statewide meeting might cause confusion
rather than solution.
Adams was out of the city and could not
be reached either for a statement as to the
reason for the meetings or for hLs reaction
to the Gross suggestion of two area meetings
instead of one.
from the boxoffice. He worked for the theatre
