PROJECTORS ARE DESIGNED
FOR ALL NEW ARC LAMPS
Many Advanced Features Are Standard Equipment

mechanisms which will take the place of
the Model C and Model CC projector
mechanisms has been announced by CentuiT
Pi'Ojector Corp. These new mechanisms
will be known as the Model H (single
shutter! and Model HH i shutter).
The simplicity, sturdiness and long-life
features of the former Model C and Model
CC mechanisms have been retained. The
new mechanisms include advances and improvements
developed for such outstanding
successes as Cinerama, Paramount horizontal
Vista Vision, Cinemiracle (opening
shortly at the Graumans Chinese Theatre
in Hollywood and the Roxy Theatre in
New York) as well as some of the features
incorptorated in the 20th Century-Pox Film
55mm-35mm projectors yet to be announced.
Thus the new Centm-y Model H and HH
mechanisms are the latest,
most efficient,
and up-to-date projector mechanisms available
today, according to the manufacturer.
They are patterned on mechanisms designed
for nonstandard film widths (wide
films) and can therefore be mcxJified for
use with "wide" films, whenever such films
are available commercially.
These new Model H and Model HH
mechanisms include as standard equipment
many new features as follows:
1. New, heavier main frame designed for
the new "air flow" cooling which greatly
reduces film trap and aperture temperatures.
2. New shutter guard and shutter operation
for higher efficiency light transmission.
Can be used with F 1.5 light speed
arc lamps thus providing for all foreseeable
future developments of arc lamp designs
and new arc lamps recently announced.
3. Curved film traps and gates which
have proven so beneficial for reduced film
distortion with clearer, sharper pictures
under even the most adverse conditions.
Century Model C-4 intermittent movement. New in
design, having larger starwheel, starwheel shaft, cam
and cam pin and easily removable sprocket. Designed
primarily for use with wider films and multiple
projection, it gives added sturdiness and more accurate
film registration with clearer, sharper pictures
on motion picture screens.
4. New lens mount with single, heavy,
center-driven focusing screw and support.
This new design provides smooth, even nonbacklash
focusing control even with extra
long lenses. The new lens clamp firmly
grips the lens over most of its length and
provides for air circulation around the lens
thus reducing lens operating temperature.
This new lens mount helpis prevent out-offocus
drift caused by changing lens temperatures.
