(iii) The <strong>University</strong> may also execute works of estimated cost exceeding Rs.<br />
twenty-five lakhs or the maximum amount decided by the Government, from<br />
time to time, if the nature of such work is not complicated and the concerned<br />
structure is up to ground plus three floors and/or the work involves multiple<br />
repetitive units such as. staff quarters, etc. For this purpose however, prior<br />
approval of the Chancellor shall be obtained.<br />
(iv) The <strong>University</strong> shall have an appropriate technical organization to execute<br />
the works to be undertaken by the <strong>University</strong>. The composition of such<br />
technical organization shall be determined by the <strong>University</strong> in consultation<br />
with the Buildings and Works Committee.<br />
(v)<br />
The <strong>University</strong> may avail of the services of the Quality Control Organization<br />
of the Public Works Department/approved quality control laboratories to inspect<br />
the quality of the material used for <strong>University</strong> works on payment of stipulated<br />
charges and to check the quality and structural safety of the works under<br />
construction.<br />
(vi) In case of works of special nature requiring particular expertise, pre-qualification<br />
of contractors shall be made by the Buildings and Works Committee.<br />
(vii) In case the Public Works Department refuses to undertake any work proposed<br />
to be entrusted to them, such works shall also be executed by the <strong>University</strong><br />
with the help of such specialised authorities/ Departmental Individuals.<br />

All major works costing more than Rs. twenty-five lakhs or the maximum amount<br />
to be decided by the Govt. from time to time except as stated above shall be<br />
entrusted to the Public Works Department, for execution on agency basis on the<br />
terms and conditions as decided by the Government from time to time.<br />
Even if the estimated cost of the work is less than Rs. twenty-five lakhs and if the<br />
work is of specialized nature, then the Buildings and Works Committee may<br />
entrust such work to Public Works Department for execution.<br />
The plan and block estimates for these works shall be prepared by the Government<br />
Architect, and shall be placed before the Buildings and Works Committee for its<br />
approval.<br />
After getting approval for these plans and block estimates by the <strong>University</strong>. The<br />
Government Architect shall prepare detailed plans and estimates and the same<br />
shall be placed before the Buildings and Works Committee for its final approval<br />
