5.2 Operation Mode<br />
Sets appropriate parameters for forwarding data between the service provider’s<br />
WiMAX network and the local network.<br />

The Operation Mode settings are only available in Operator mode<br />
5.2.1 Operation Mode Settings<br />
Specifies how various packets are forwarded to and from the WiMAX network to<br />
the local network.<br />

• Operation Mode – Specifies the mode for forwarding data packets from the<br />
WiMAX network to the local network. Packets transmitted in ETH CS (Ethernet<br />
conversion sublayer) mode contain an 802.3 header, packets transmitted in IP<br />
CS mode do not contain this header. Only IP CS is available in the current<br />
software release.<br />
• Data Transfer Mode – Sets the forwarding mode for sending data packets to<br />
the WiMAX network. Bridge mode forwards packets based on Layer 2 MAC<br />
addresses. Router mode forwards packets based on Layer 3 IP addresses.<br />
• Management Transfer Mode – Sets the forwarding mode for sending<br />
management packets to the WiMAX network. Bridge mode forwards packets<br />
based on Layer 2 MAC addresses. Router mode forwards packets based on<br />
Layer 3 IP addresses.<br />
• VoIP Transfer Mode – Sets the forwarding mode for sending VoIP packets to<br />
the WiMAX network. Bridge mode forwards packets based on Layer 2 MAC<br />
addresses. Router mode forwards packets based on Layer 3 IP addresses.<br />
