a. Considerations Affecting the Possible Courses of Action.<br />
(1) Characteristics of the Area of Operations.<br />
(a) Military Geography.<br />
1. Topography.<br />
2. Hydrography. Include the characteristics of offshore sea areas,<br />
approaches to the beaches, currents, tides, the beaches themselves, ports,<br />
docks, <strong>and</strong> similar maritime considerations.<br />
3. Climate <strong>and</strong> Weather. Extremes of temperature, wind velocities, cloud<br />
cover, visibility, precipitation, <strong>and</strong> other such factors that can affect<br />
military operations. Sunrise, sunset, <strong>and</strong> twilight data are normally given<br />
in this subparagraph.<br />
Note: METOC <strong>and</strong> Intelligence personnel produce this information.<br />
B.1.2 OPLAN/OPORD/CONPLAN Formats.<br />
B.1.2.1 Basic Plan/CINC’s Strategic Concept.<br />
Paragraph 4. Administration <strong>and</strong> Logistics, subparagraph f, Meteorological <strong>and</strong><br />
Oceanographic Operations. In preparing the Basic Plan, refer to Annex H. Ensure that<br />
when Annex H is published, it is included in the list of Annexes at the end of the Basic<br />
Plan.<br />

include an Annex H, a more descriptive paragraph should be included.<br />

routes of ingress <strong>and</strong> egress) needed to support amphibious <strong>and</strong> logistics over-theshore<br />
