H.2 Navy<br />

• Navy METOC reservists include commissioned officers designated as 1805 (Restricted<br />

Line), Limited Duty Officers designated as 6465, <strong>and</strong> Aerographer’s Mates. The<br />

officers <strong>and</strong> enlisted selected reservists (SELRES) drill in 12 Naval METOC Reserve<br />

Activities (NMORAs) that provide contributory support to gaining comm<strong>and</strong>s within<br />

the Naval Meteorology <strong>and</strong> Oceanography Comm<strong>and</strong>. A typical NMORA consists of<br />

3 -5 officers <strong>and</strong> 20 -25 enlisted members.<br />

• Qualified observers <strong>and</strong> forecasters can augment shipboard personnel during underway<br />

(deployed) periods, or serve at a <strong>Joint</strong> METOC Forecast Unit (JMFU) during a joint<br />

exercise or operation. To inquire about qualified augmentees for a specific exercise,<br />

H.3 <strong>Joint</strong> Reserve Units<br />

The <strong>Joint</strong> Reserve Unit (JRU) at the U.S. <strong>Joint</strong> Forces Comm<strong>and</strong> consists of 600+<br />

reservists in USAF, Navy, <strong>and</strong> Army detachments. METOC reservists assigned to the<br />

USJFCOM JRU help the SMO support the CINC’s staff, assisting with daily operations<br />

<strong>and</strong> during USJFCOM training exercises. USJFCOM reservists could deploy to support<br />
