Infrastructure installation and
operation does not degrade or
restrict the productive capacity of
agricultural land.
Infrastructure is placed on property
boundaries or fence lines (not
including road alignment
boundaries).
Proposals for construction and
operation of telecommunications
infrastructure are approved by the
Tasmanian Heritage Council in
accordance with the requirements
of the Historic Cultural Heritage Act
1995 and/or are consistent with
recommendations by the Aboriginal
Heritage Section of DELM.
The location of aerial
telecommunications infrastructure
allows adequate clearance for
vehicular traffic and will not pose a
danger or encumbrance to other
land users or aircraft.
The compound housing the
infrastructure is located along a
boundary with an adjacent
property. Comprising a small area of
60m 2 the facility will result in a
negligible loss of agricultural land
overall. The proposal will not
impact on agricultural capability of
surrounding land, as it will not
result in fettering and does not
comprise a sensitive use.
Complies - The subject site is not on
the Tasmanian Heritage Register
and the applicants have included a
letter from Aboriginal Heritage
Tasmania confirming that they have
completed a search of the
Tasmanian Aboriginal Site Index and
there is no record of any heritage
sites within or close to the property
and that further due to the small
scale of the facility, it is believed
there is a low probability of
Aboriginal Heritage being impacted.
There was no requirement for
further Aboriginal Heritage
Investigations.
Complies - The proposed facility will
allow adequate clearance for
vehicular traffic and will not pose a
danger or encumbrance to other
land users or aircraft. It is noted
that the application has been
referred to the Burnie Airport
Corporation and they have
indicated there are no issues from
their perspective.
