POLICY IMPLICATIONS
There are no significant policy implications identified.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
All costs are to be borne by the event organisers including advertising of the road
closures.
RISK IMPLICATIONS
A condition imposed on the approval to close the roads would be the provision of
evidence of appropriate insurance policies for the conduct of the event. This will mitigate
any risk to Council associated with the event.
CONSULTATION PROCESS
Nil.
COMMENT
The event should cause minimal inconvenience to the public and should proceed.
It is therefore recommended that the Council:
1. Agree to the closure of roads for the conduct of the Advent Pageant as requested
by Fusion subject to the following conditions:
(a) Fusion to erect courtesy signs to advise the residents, ratepayers and
motoring public in advance of the road closures.
