COMMENT
The event should cause minimal inconvenience to the public and should proceed.
It is therefore recommended that the Council:
1. Agree to the closure of roads for the conduct of the Wynyard Christmas Parade as
requested by the Lions Club of Wynyard subject to the following conditions:
(a) Lions Club of Wynyard to erect courtesy signs to advise the residents,
ratepayers and motoring public in advance of the road closures.
(b) That Council notify all households within the road closure area in writing
(c)
at least 2 weeks before the event.
Lions Club of Wynyard to attend to the prompt removal of all litter left at
the Wynyard Christmas Parade and publicly advertised spectator-viewing
areas.
2. Authorises the General Manager (or his nominee) to negotiate with the organiser
on any other issues that may arise in respect to the conduct of the event.
