The Program<br />

This minor combines the study of French<br />

language and culture with other academic<br />

interests. See also the French major and<br />

minor, which follow.<br />

All classes from outside the Department of<br />

World Languages and Cultures are taught<br />

in English.<br />

This minor allows an expanded view of the<br />

Francophone world through disciplines other<br />

than language and civilization.<br />

A student might use this minor to become<br />

an employee of a nongovernmental organization,<br />

interpreter, teacher, foreign service<br />

officer, airline employee, travel agent, foreign<br />

correspondent, international banker, literary<br />

translator.<br />

Preparation<br />

Those who have studied French in high<br />

school can begin at the intermediate or<br />

advanced level.<br />
