The Program
Analyze fundamental ideas and basic concepts
of human experience. Constructively
reexperience the problems and doubts in
your own life which are also found in writings
of Eastern and Western philosophical
traditions. The program emphasizes the
history of philosophy. We critique ourselves,
our culture, and our world so as to reform
them.
Class discussions and philosophical papers
develop analytical, logic-based critical thinking,
and critical writing skills—excellent preparation
for professional and other careers.
Philosophy graduates teach at the college
level or continue their education at professional
schools such as law and medicine.
