Important: Failure to provide proof of<br />
immunization will result in the student<br />
not being allowed to register for a second<br />
semester.<br />
Measles and Rubella (applies to all students<br />
born after January 1, 1957). All new<br />
and readmitted students born after January<br />
1, 1957 must provide proof of immunity to<br />
measles and rubella. This means two doses<br />
of vaccine after age one. Students can be<br />
vaccinated for a charge at the Student<br />
Health Center.<br />
Hepatitis B. All new students who will be 18<br />
years of age or younger at the start of their<br />
first term at a CSU campus must provide<br />
proof of full immunization against Hepatitis<br />
B before enrolling. Full immunization against<br />
Hepatitis B consists of three doses of vaccine<br />
over a minimum 4 to 6 months period.<br />
Vaccine is available for a charge at the<br />
Student Health Center.<br />
Meningococcal Disease. The Student Health<br />
Center recommends that entering students<br />
consider vaccination against meningococcal<br />
disease. Each incoming freshman who will<br />
be residing in on-campus housing will be<br />
required to return a form indicating that<br />
they have received information about meningococcal<br />
disease. Vaccine is available at cost<br />
through the Student Health Center, though<br />
may also be obtained through Public Health<br />
and personal health providers.<br />

are required of students as conditions of<br />
enrollment in CSU.<br />

Reservation<br />
The <strong>University</strong> reserves the right to select<br />
its students and deny admission to the<br />
<strong>University</strong> or any of its programs as the<br />
<strong>University</strong>, in its sole discretion, determines<br />
appropriate based on an applicant’s suitability<br />
and the best interests of the <strong>University</strong>.<br />
New Student Orientation<br />
The purpose of new student orientation<br />
is to assist students in their transition to<br />
the university, introduce them to the broad<br />
educational opportunities at <strong>Humboldt</strong><br />
<strong>State</strong> and to integrate them into the life of<br />
the university. The student-run <strong>Humboldt</strong><br />
Orientation Program (HOP), a New Student<br />
Program, is offered several times during<br />
the summer and once each fall and spring.<br />
HOP acquaints new students and their<br />
parents with the university and surrounding<br />
community. All newly admitted students will<br />
receive registration information in the mail<br />
about orientation.<br />

Freshman Interest Groups for new students.<br />
A Freshman Interest Group (FIG) consists<br />
of approximately 25 freshmen students<br />
who take a set of thematically-linked courses<br />
during their first semester.<br />
