No Longer a Slumdog<br />
Children learn vital skills such as discipline, hygiene and manners. They become more respectful<br />
and courteous and are more willing to study and help their parents at home.<br />
of respecting parents and elders, of telling the truth and of <strong>no</strong>t<br />
being willfully disobedient. This transformation in attitude and<br />
behavior is quickly <strong>no</strong>ticed by parents.<br />
Padimni’s parents came to our GFA Bridge of Hope center<br />
to thank the teachers for the change they saw in their daughter.<br />
The girl had been a thief most of her life, often stealing food from<br />
her family and money from her father. But one day at the GFA<br />
Bridge of Hope center, she heard about Jesus, and it changed her<br />
completely. Padimni listened carefully to a lesson taught about<br />
stealing. She learned that stealing was wrong and that she should<br />
change her behavior. So she did.<br />
A<strong>no</strong>ther child, a boy named Isar, was constantly fighting with<br />
the neighboring boys. His parents warned him that he wouldn’t<br />
have any friends because of his actions. And they were right; Isar<br />
found himself without any friends.<br />
