Spread the Word
We can all learn from the example of these two young boys.
In order to sell their cookies, I imagine they have had opportunities
to tell their extended family and neighbors about their GFA
Bridge of Hope child.
Likewise, you can be a part of the rescue team by spreading
the word. This book is an excellent resource to open people’s
eyes to this reality, and you can order more copies to give to your
friends or relatives.
We have other books as well. If you haven’t already, I encourage
you to read my first book, Revolution in World Missions. It
tells of the origins of Gospel for Asia and the work of our national
missionaries. You can get a copy at www.gfa.org/store.
But don’t stop with your immediate family; share what you
are doing with your friends, relatives, co-workers and church
members. Explain why you are doing it and how they too can get
involved.
Simple Living
Many people find the idea of sponsoring a child to be an incredible
eye-opener. They come to appreciate the blessings they
have and start to recognize that they own much more than they
need. Just the cost of coffee, of going out to eat, of the latest fashions,
T-shirts, CDs and DVDs, or even of that special candy you
love so much can literally save a child in Asia.
Often I go through my closet and remove all the clothes I
