Acknowledgments
Many people have left their mark upon this text and on my
heart as they shared their stories with me. I think of Doug Nichols,
who pinned me down years ago to be an advocate for the suffering
children in this world. I never knew what saying yes would
mean. And I am sure this book is in part the fruit of his prayers.
To all the staff who work in our GFA Bridge of Hope centers,
I thank you. Without your work and your prayers, these children
would never have blossomed, and we never would know what
the Lord’s hand had done.

of darkness and poverty into the light of Christ. Without your
