No Longer a Slumdog
As a sponsor of a GFA Bridge of Hope child,
what should I expect
As a sponsor, you will have the incredible blessing of being
able to pray for a specific child on the other side of the world.
And though you may never meet, we believe the impact your
prayers will have on this child and his or her family will truly
change their lives. You will also have the opportunity to write to
your child and receive letters in return. On average, a child will
write two letters per year.
Your role is a vital one. As your child’s sponsor, you give
donations that provide for a valuable education and lay the
foundation for a future of promise. Your ongoing prayers for your
sponsored child are another investment that has the potential to
bear eternal rewards—not only in one child’s heart but also in
their family and community. It is entirely possible that thousands
of people will be affected.
Your child will be praying for you as well, because you will
become special to him or her and to their family. Many parents
have a hard time fully understanding why a stranger on the other
side of the world would want to send their child to school, feed
them and buy them clothes. Your giving will help open their
hearts to the Word of God.
You may never know the full effect of your support, because
when you make a difference in the life of a child, your impact
never really ends.
Your family can be changed through sponsorship too. Many
sponsors find it an excellent way to bond as a family.
You will receive in the mail a photo and information packet
about your child, which will help you know how to pray for him
or her. Remember, you will be your child’s only supporter.
