No Longer a Slumdog<br />
Without an education, impoverished children have almost <strong>no</strong> chance of ever escaping<br />
the hardship in which they are trapped.<br />
for them as he taught them how to live. Slowly he instilled discipline<br />
into them and demonstrated respect and kindness while<br />
sharing lessons from the Bible.<br />
The two boys started to change, and eventually, their lives<br />
turned around completely. Now Vichy, the older one, likes to visit<br />
the same people he used to harass and share the love of Christ<br />
with them. Instead of calling him “headache,” <strong>no</strong>w the people in<br />
the slum call him “Little Pastor.”<br />
God is able to work amazing transformations in the lives of<br />
such children, and we have seen Him using GFA Bridge of Hope<br />
to bring hope into their lives. But for the millions of children still<br />
waiting in the rural villages and slums, there remains little chance<br />
of change unless we get to them soon.<br />
Calcutta alone is home to more than 100,000 street children 5<br />
who k<strong>no</strong>w neither father <strong>no</strong>r mother, love <strong>no</strong>r care. They are left<br />
