winds of change<br />
The Great Commission that Jesus gave literally means we<br />
share the Gospel of grace that the Lord Jesus Christ came, died<br />
and rose again to bring us salvation. This is fundamentally important.<br />
This is why the idea of expanding this new initiative, one<br />
that seemed more centered on social justice and compassion, was<br />
difficult for me.<br />
So before we expanded this program further, I, along with<br />
my senior leaders, sought the Lord for confirmation that this was<br />
the direction He wanted us to go. We entered into a time of intense<br />
prayer and fasting. Soon, I had a dream that God used to<br />
propel us forward.<br />
I was standing in front of a vast wheat field looking out upon<br />
a harvest that was clearly ripe. I stood there for a while overwhelmed<br />
at the sheer size of the harvest. What seemed like endless<br />
acres continued for as far as my eyes could see.<br />
Watching the golden wheat sway in the breeze, I got this<br />
sudden understanding that I was looking upon the fields that<br />
Jesus spoke about in John 4 and Matthew 9. It was as though the<br />
Lord was telling me this harvest was free for the taking, much<br />
like Psalm 2 tells us to ask for the nations and He will give them<br />
to us.<br />
Overcome with excitement at seeing such a great harvest<br />
ready for reaping and k<strong>no</strong>wing this represented millions of souls<br />
being rescued from an eternity in hell, I began to jump up and<br />
down with excitement.<br />
I could see it. The harvest was plentiful. It’s ready! And I was<br />
so happy. I ran toward this field shouting, “Wow! We can take it!<br />
All these people we can take to heaven!”<br />
As I raced toward the field with all my might, I was already<br />
