Student National Podiatric Medical Association – is a national society working to promote<br />
fellowship among all students. The association provides a channel of communication for<br />
minority students by working to establish and enhance professional relationships with other<br />
minority practitioners. In addition to providing tutorial programs and sources of financial<br />
assistance, many social activities are planned throughout the year.<br />
Student Occupational Therapy Association – the object of SOTA is to further the<br />
advancement of Occupational Therapy in order to enhance the health of the public in its<br />
medical, community and educational environments through research, education, action, service<br />
and the establishment of standards.<br />
Surgery Club – is a student chapter of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.<br />
This organization introduces students to the fundamental principles and practices essential to<br />
podiatric surgery. The club stresses the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to care and<br />
sponsors numerous lectures and clinics.<br />
RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS<br />
Baptist Dialogue Group – this group in made up of students, faculty and staff members. A<br />
bible study is held once a week on campus for anyone interested in exploring the Word.<br />
Hillel Organization – to provide guidance and organization for religious, cultural, educational,<br />
social welfare and interfaith activities for Jewish students at the university.<br />
Integrity – open to all g/l/b students, faculty and staff who desire to gather for prayer,<br />
conversation and community. Meetings are held monthly at the Office of Mission and<br />
Ministry.<br />
Jewish/Christian/Muslim Dialogue Group – this committee coordinates events of interest<br />
focused on issues of Jewish, Christian and Muslim issues. Numerous luncheons are sponsored<br />
by this group for the <strong>University</strong> community.<br />
Latter-Day Saints Student Association – the association is a priesthood directed organization<br />
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that seeks to meet the needs of individual<br />
college students. LDSSA helps all Latter-Day Saint college students stay closely affiliated<br />
with the Church, succeed in their studies and achieve a balanced life while on campus.<br />
One Love Prayer Group – exploring various prayer traditions, this inter-faith group gathers<br />
once a month for centering and meditation. A nature retreat is offered in the Fall semester and<br />
a day of reflection in the Spring semester.<br />
INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS<br />
Caribbean Students Association – to provide information and assistance to new Caribbean<br />
students; to inform members of the university community about Caribbean culture; and to<br />
provide social programming for all persons interested in the Caribbean.<br />
French Club – to promote interest in France, its culture, the people and to facilitate an<br />
exchange of ideas between students.<br />
Haitian Intercultural Association – seeks to develop an awareness of Haitian culture and<br />
ideals while contributing to the Haitian community and the community at large through service<br />
projects.<br />
