PEDDLING/SALE OF PRODUCTS<br />

Only authorized personnel may sell goods to students on the campus. Authorized<br />

agents will carry a signed statement of approval from the or other administrative officer and<br />

will be assigned a booth or specific area in which to sell the product. A daily charge may<br />

apply. Copies of the university Vendor Policy are available by contacting the student activities<br />

office, Thompson 110.<br />

SMOKING<br />

In accordance with the Florida Clean Indoor Air Act, no public area or work area<br />

controlled by <strong>Barry</strong> <strong>University</strong> shall be a smoking area, including, but not limited to, private<br />

offices, classrooms, academic buildings, meeting rooms, lobbies, restrooms, stairwells and<br />

break rooms.<br />

STUDENT IDENTIFICATION<br />

At all times students are expected to carry the university identification card. This<br />

card is to be used only by the student whose name and picture appear on it. Misuse of the<br />

identification card will result in disciplinary action.<br />

When requested by an authorized university official, students are required to<br />

produce their identification card.<br />

This card is your official university identification; it must be carried at all times for<br />

admission to cafeteria, athletic and cultural events, library, student elections, and for the use of<br />

university facilities and services.<br />

REFUND POLICY<br />

Total Withdrawal From The <strong>University</strong>:<br />

Students who register but do not attend classes, or who withdraw after attending<br />

classes for any reason, will not receive a refund unless they withdraw officially by submitting a<br />

written notice of withdrawal to the office of the dean of their respective schools. The effective<br />

date of withdrawal will be the date on which the notice is received by the respective dean, and<br />

the percentage of refund will be determined by this date.<br />

Tuition, room and board fees will be refunded on this basis: If the student leaves<br />

within the first two weeks of the semester, 80% of the full semester charge is refunded; within<br />

the first three weeks, 60% is refunded; within the first four weeks, 40% is refunded; within the<br />

first five weeks, 20% is refunded. After the fifth week there is no refund. Refundable credit<br />

must be claimed within one calendar year. For purposes of determining the percentage of<br />

refund, the first week of classes will be considered the start of the semester and upon which<br />

refunds will be based.<br />

Withdrawal Policy for Individual Courses:<br />

Students who drop individual courses after the period of schedule adjustment and<br />

are still enrolled in the university are NOT entitled to any refund.<br />

Changes Made During the Period of Schedule Adjustment:<br />

Students dropping courses during the period of schedule adjustment will receive<br />

total refund for the course and special course fee, if applicable as long as they remain enrolled<br />

in the university.<br />

Student Dismissal<br />

A student dismissed for academic or disciplinary reasons at any time shall not be<br />

entitled to any claim or refund.<br />

Special Course Fees Are Not Refundable<br />

All fees, outside of tuition and room and board, are non-refundable.<br />
