Turning shaft can kill you or crush arm or leg. Stay away.<br />
NOTICE:<br />
• Keep everyone at least 10’ (3 m) away from turning drill string.<br />
• Push rod or pipe slowly. Forcing can bend string. Do not use bent rod or pipe.<br />
Jobsite hazards could cause death or serious injury. Use<br />
correct equipment and work methods. Use and maintain proper safety<br />
equipment.<br />
1. Turn on drilling fluid.<br />
2. Visually check for drilling fluid flow.<br />
3. Turn drill bit to starting position. See “Prepare Entry Point” on page 60.<br />
4. Slowly move carriage forward. See “Prepare Entry Point” on page 60. Take care to steer to drill straight<br />
in line with drilling unit. Drill in downhole tools and 1/3 of first pipe before steering.<br />
5. Monitor gauges.<br />
