What is the impact of Piaget's theory on developmental research today Is Piaget's theory to developmental psychology what the sensorimotor stage is to the development of intelligence Is Piaget's theory alive in the same way all around the world What does it mean to be "Piagetian", "Neo-Piagetian", "Post-Piagetian", etc. today Who is the legitimate successor of Piaget today These are examples of the questions that could be discussed. The special event will be divided into six stages. After a short introduction by the moderator, the two speakers will give their own answers to the question "Is Piaget still alive" Each speaker will then have the opportunity to discuss the answers of the other speaker. Last but not least, the audience will be invited to discuss the speakers' answers and to come up with alternative answers. Publishing in the 21st century Friday 26, 16.15-17.45, Klokkeklang Willem Koops, Utrecht University, The Netherlands The session will address aims and visions for publishing in the 21 st century as seen from the perspectives of leading librarians, editors, publishers and authors within the field of developmental psychology. The session will start out with the presentation "Modern use of Libraries and the future of scientific publications" by the internationally recognized librarian Dr. Anja Smit. Thereafter short statements on current journal policies will be given by the editors of existing journals within the field of developmental psychology (European Journal of Developmental Psychology; International Journal of Behavioral Development; Child Development and others). The presentation and statements will be followed by an open discussion with the audience and some of the publishers present at the conference (Blackwell, Psychology Press, Wiley and others). 9

The Grieg Hall is named after the famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, and shaped like an enormous grand piano. This splendour is located in the very heart of Bergen, right next to the city park.
